Customers Fault Description : Remote control doesn't operate the TV at all - thought it was flat batteries so replaced them with new batteries but still doesn't work

 

This remote arrived and was totally dead, it was noted that the d.setup button and d.menu button had bits missing from the rubber pad (this doesnt affect the functionality of the remote but cannot be repaired as it is a cosmetic defect)

Upon opening the remote there was evidence of liquid spilleage around the main ic and other components.  Also an electrolytic and crystas were affected by the spilleage. both were replaced and then the pcb was given and alcohol soak to remove all remnants of the spilleage to prevent future issues.

Full functionality has been restored (see testing video)
