BOSE RC28T1-40 Remote Repair Details

Customers Fault Description : Buttons need to be pressed hard, sometimes more than once to work. Also remote seems to lees "powerful" i.e. doesn't seem to work from as far away as originally and seems to have to be directly facing system, doesn't seem to work when at an angle to the system.

 

This remote arrived and was found to be transmitting.  The handset was opened to check for any component damage and to also check for button decay.

The component check found no faults, there was some signs of slight button decay but not enough to cause the issues that the customer encountered.  The board was cleaned with alcohol to remove contamination and the buttons were refurbished.

This remote has been classed as "no fault found" and the customer is to test with their equipment.  If the issue is still present then it looks like it may be the receiver that is at fault. No charge is being made for this inspection.
