Mertik Fireplace Remote Repair Details

Customers Fault Description : the down button which turns the fire off works fine, but the up button+little button to the left to turn the fire on works on very rare occasions.
This mertik maxitrol fire remote arrived safely, first inspection showed that the combination buttons to increase the fire were not functioning.
Upon opening the handset the reason became apparent, there was contamination around the function button which had rendered the button dead, the button was replaced and full functionality was restored (see testing video)
