Customers Fault Description : Receiver does not respond to ON signal (small + up large buttons) from remote. Receiver shows no red light. Therefore receiver does not provide power to advance drive motor. Off button (large down) does communicate with receiver and will turn motor on gas valve to turn fire off.
This remote and receiver for a fire arrived safely and was found to be intermittent on the "ON" channel. A full component check showed no imediate problems and after a few component changes it was found that the usual 40khz crystal was at fault in the handset.
This was replaced and full functionality was restored.
