Gazco G30-ZRHSO Remote Repair Details

Customers Fault Description : Following an online chat with Martin, I will be sending what would appear to be a faulty G30-ZRHSO dating from 2005 which I believe is now EL0239. Whilst the fire itself works perfectly manually, the remote has stopped working. Over the last year or so the light on the handset had been coming on very dimly and flickering and then with a bit of fiddling came on brightly and worked OK. Now, it is only coming on dimly and flickering and stopped working completely. I have changed the batteries both in the handset and the fire but to no effect.
This remote and receiver arrived safely boxed.
Upon testing the remote control the power LED was very dim to the point of almost non illumination.
The cause of this was a faulty diode in the handset itself, this was replaced and full functionality was restored.
The receiver was tested and found to be fully functioning.
