Customers Fault Description : This for an unbranded bathroom television from China and the only way to turn on the TV is using the remote control. A local TV repairman has tested the remote and it is not working.
This remote arrived safely and on adding a power source was found to not be transmitting on any button press.
A component check was carried out and it was found that the crystal oscillator was faulty, one of the pins was loose.
This was replaced and full functionality was restored.
