Mertik maxitrol G6R-H and GV60 Remote Repair Details

Customers Fault Description : The distance between the handset and the receiver (control system) is normally about 4 meters, last autumn and winter there was no issue. Now we are trying to use the system but we have to hold the handset at 30 centimeters before the receiver picks up the signal. We have also tested this with all new batteries.
This fireplace remote and receiver arrived safely from the Netherlands. On testing the remote was found to be transmitting as normal but the receiver only receives from a short range.
On opening the receiver there was signs of a battery leakage which had caused some corrosion on a large portion of the pcb. Due to the extent of this corrosion a repair has not been possible.
