Doyce Electronics Ltd Doyce Digital DE400 Remote Repair Details

Manufacturer : Doyce Electronics Ltd

Model : Doyce Digital DE400

Customers Fault Description : The remote controller which is used to select functions on the analyser itself is no longer working. It has 32 buttons and none are working. The 9v battery power feed earth wire is broken from the PCB, but the remote stopped working prior to the wire breaking off. The remote control is of a very simple design internally and is from the late 1980's so hopefully will be a simple fix.

This car diognostics remote arrived safely and was confirmed to have a faulty battery cable, this was replaced but when tested the controller was also confirmed to not be sending a signal.  The front nutton array can be seen to be rising away from the casing, this however is not the main problem as when shorting hte pins of the button array input still no signal could be found.  A component test was carried out and all seemed to be functioning as per normal, it was therefore found to be the ICS that are at fault which sadly are not available as spares.
