Mertik Maxitrol G6R H4D6 Remote Repair Details

Manufacturer : Mertik Maxitrol

Model : G6R H4D6

Customers Fault Description : I have an Esse gas fire with a Mertik Maxitrol GV60 valve and a G6R H4D6 remote, about six years old, with which I have had no trouble in the past. It has not been used for over a year now and I am now unable to get it to work. I have changed the batteries in both the receiver and the remote, but, using the remote in the usual way, cannot get any response from the receiver, and there is no means of knowing whether the remote is working. Although the remote and receiver are known to have been paired I have tried pushing the reset button on the receiver , obtaining the short beep followed by a longer beep. Pressing the low flame button on the remote either elicits no response at all or , sometimes, a long continuous beep. For this reason I suspect that the remote is not pairing with the receiver and may be faulty.Alternatively, it could be a fault in the receiver Do you want me to send the receiver as well?

This fireplace remote and receiver arrived safely and on adding a power source was found not to be responding on any button press, a signal was present in the remote but it would not pair with the receiver.

Eventually it was found that the frequency that the remote was sending was different from the 433 mhz, this was rectified and the problem went away.  The battery block in the receiver was also changed as it showed signs of battery leakage / corrosion.
