TEAC RC-959 Remote Repair Details

Customers Fault Description : Remote control does nothing, tried fresh batteries, nothing seems to work, no response from any of the buttons.
This remote arrived safely and was found to be dead, upon opening the remote there was a small solder splash that was shorting out 2 pins of the main I.C.
This solder was most likely floating around inside the remote since its creation until one day it lodged itself inbetween the pins of the chip causing the dead fault.
The solder was removed and full functionality has been restored (see testing video below)
