iRobot Roomba 700 series Remote Repair Details

Manufacturer : iRobot

Model : Roomba 700 series

Customers Fault Description : This is supposed to be a brand new item from a factory, bought from a 100% rated seller on ebay. The remote never worked. No light comes out etc

 

This remote arrived safely from Finland and was found to be totally non functioning.

A full component check revealed that the culrpit was the main I.C. that was faulty.  Unfortunately the I.C. was encased in black resin (see bottom image) making the possibility of changing it or even identifying it impossible.

This has rendered the remote beyond repair.
