Mertik Maxitrol G30-ZRHD Remote Repair Details

Manufacturer : Mertik Maxitrol

Model : G30-ZRHD

Customers Fault Description : On button not working. If I move the remote control about in front of the gas fire get the odd flicker for split second then nothing. Off button appears to be working ok. The unit that receives the signal on the gas fire is G30-ZRRS. I have tried replacing the batteries in both units.

This remote arrived safely and initial testing showed that it was in fact the receiver that may be at fault.

The customer was requested to send in their receiver which arrived safely, testing did confirm that the receiver was "intermittent" in operation.

This was due to a faulty 40k crystal in the receiver box, this was replaced and full functionality was restored (see testing video)

Please note that the tape on the remote is simply to hide the customers personal details.

The battery terminal lead in the remote was also replaced as it showed signs of wear.
