Sony RM-S730 Remote Repair Details

Customers Fault Description : Remote is not working at all since recently purchasing the corresponding stereo system from eBay. It looks like some battery leak damage has occurred from what I can see.
This Sony remote arrived safely and on initial inspection it was confirmed that the battery terminals did have corrosion on them due to a battery leakage.
On adding a power source a IR signal was found but only when the batteries were rotated, this confirmed that the corrosion was causing an intermittent connection to the battery.
The corrosion was rubbed off usung a fiber pend and cleaned with alcohol, then a metalic paint coating was applied to prevent further corrosion.
Full steady functionality was restored.
