Mertik Maxitrol C6R-R4A Remote Repair Details

Manufacturer : Mertik Maxitrol

Model : C6R-R4A

Customers Fault Description : Although the LED on the remote will light up the receiver will not operate to either increase or decrease the flame on the gas fire.

This remote and receiver arrived safely and on inspection the receiver had a badly corroded battery block.

The remote was tested and confirmed to be sending a signal but the receiver remained unresponsive.

On opening the receiver the battery leakage had spread onto the main PCB effectively shorting out a couple of ICs

The battery block was bypassed and the corrosion contaminate removed but sadly the dead issue remained.  Due to the ICs lack of availability a repair is not possible.
