Acoustic Solutions SP151 Remote Repair Details

Customers Fault Description : Remote was working on all buttons and just stopped after a bit of prolonged usage (typing track names in). Did camera test and no output from IR LED, tested LED with multi meter and dead both ways (+to+ -to-, +to- -to+). I have replaced the LED myself with a new one which now tests good(should be in the right way round but please check) but this has not fixed the problem.

 

This hard drive juke box controller arrived safely and on testing was confirmed dead.  When opened there were a couple of main issues, the first being that the oscillator was faulty, this was replaced which restored a signal.  Then it was found that the stop and play buttons were very unresponsive.  This was due to worn button pads, replacement button pads were fitted under the worn buttons which restored full functionality.
