MERTIK MAXITROL G30-ZRRS Remote Repair Details

Model : G30-ZRRS

Customers Fault Description : Dial on fire does not move but the red light on the handset goes on & the red light on the box goes on when you press down on the handset but not when you press up. Husband used a wired up a battery to the remote on the fire (to check it wasn't the dial that was broken) and the dial moved up & down.

This fireplace control and receiver arrived safely and on inspection the receiver had a very badly corroded battery block and also the  transducer protective grill was badly damaged.  On opening the leakage from the battery block had continued onto the PCB causing some corrosion points.  

On testing the remote was found to be transmitting but the receiver did no respond on either up or down channel.

Sadly due to the amount of damage a repair is not possible and a replacement would be the preferred option.
